What We Do
- Inform and raise a general awareness to veterans and dependents who have not established the use of any military education benefits (GI BILL®) to attend our college;
- Provide a veteran support system, and create an atmosphere of camaraderie to incoming and current student veterans;
- Continually seek to support the existing Student Veterans Association as a means to contribute to student life projects at our campus;
- Build a partnership with various organizations in the community to further expand Employment, Volunteer, and Health & Welfare opportunities for students to be involved in the 最新麻豆原创allup Campus and within our local community.

- Apply for VA Education Benefits through the U.S Department of Veterans Affairs, Online at
- After you apply for education benefits
- it can take about 30 days (average) for the VA to make a decision
- If you applied for Post-9/11 GI Bill benefits on VA.gov, you may be able to download your decision letter online.
- a decision letter will be mailed
- If the VA approved your application, you'll need to show the letter to the VA certifying official at your school to start using education benefits
- you will receive a certificate of Eligibility (COE) for VA Education Benefits
- After you apply for education benefits
- Request for your Military Transcripts
- The website requesting the transcript only has UNM Albuquerque’s address on file. Once you request the transcripts, they will be received at the Albuquerque campus, and UNM-A will usually notify us when they are received. When the notification is received, the registrar will process and evaluate. Once evaluated, you will see in your unofficial transcripts and lobo trax (degree audit).
- Apply for Financial aid
- Our office of Financial Aid is dedicated to helping students pursue higher education by providing appropriate financial resources and other aid for all qualified current and prospective students. Questions about financial aid, please visit Financial Aid.
- Create Your UNM Net ID
- A Net ID allows you access to your UNM email and other services including LoboWeb where you can view and register for classes, check your Bursar account, access online courses, and more New students can create a NetID within 24 hours of being admitted.
- Meet with an Advisor
- Our advisement and student success team is here for you. Your academic advisor will:
- Review your academic records and applicable test scores to determine your required courses.
- Assist you in developing goals and creating your educational plan.
- Help you plan your class schedule.
- Provide information on new student orientation and help you register for a session. You can also get general advisement information by calling (505) 863-7706.
- Our advisement and student success team is here for you. Your academic advisor will:
- Request for Enrollment Certification
- Visit the Student Resource Center and complete the following:
- Bring the Certificate of Eligibility (COE).
- Complete Request for VA Enrollment Certification Form.
- Concise Student Schedule.
- These documents will be reviewed by the school certifying Official (SCO) once they are received. You will be advised if there are any additional requirements needed. Please be sure to check your lobo mail.
- Visit the Student Resource Center and complete the following:
- You’re all set! Remember to request for VA Enrollment Certification every semester.
Continue Using VA Education Benefits
Students will:
- Complete Request for VA Enrollment Certification form (every semester).
- Provide concise student schedule.
- Provide Lobo Trax (degree audit) after registering for classes.
Once documents are received, SCO will review and certify courses accordingly in enrollment manager.
